An abundance of Happy New Year greetings was shared liberally which set the mood for a well attended group; see the sharing of wonderful work throughout the blog.
The group’s business segment was filled with a variety of things, from the highs of further great feedback on the Anthology, tempered by several pieces of sad news of loss and illness for members both current and past which was befittingly taken into our hearts.
Looking forward, the year has many possible collaborations but these have some more work to arrange and initiate so
‘watch this space’ as they say.
Unexpected news was the loss of the Stage Side venue due to the business decision the Hippodrome not to renew the lease on the building from the end of January. This short notice was slightly softened by the active intervention of the theatre’s management to try and
accommodate us in a different part of the main building although this will inevitably entail changes to WWB’s usual times. The core group are working on these issues and notifications will come out by Email and
here on the blog as they are settled.
The meeting ended on a much happier note and with raised energy many members shared their work. The now wonderfully high standard of writing took in a wide range of topics and emotions as each was warmly received.
The group photo below was commissioned as a fond memory of the last time we will be in this warm and convivial space.
Perhaps the next one will be even better?
Hi there fellow writers! Sorry I was not able to attend the’last meeting’ My heart was there with the group although not physically. It is with sadness that I read of our losing a formidable location. I say with joy how proud I am to have been part of such a lovely and caring group and hope I still will be when a new location is found. Thanks to David for the wonderful work he is doing to keep the group’s progress in our eyes and in the eyes of our many ‘followers’. Much respect here. Being introduced to two other groups down here Will update you. Best wishes for the future. Kind regards to all. Kitty/Elaine from Bexhill.
Thank you Elaine, we are sure it will all work out up here and of course you are always part of the group, in person or in spirit. Great news about the other groups you are looking at, perhaps there is an opportunity for a seaside outing and colaboration somehow. I, (David), am just pleased to be able to share the love and power of this great group of writers and performers.
What a lovely lot of talented and enchanting people all in one place. Super! I am having a most enjoyable time in India but I
am looking forward to being in this lovely company again xx
We send all our best for the rest of the trip, keep watching out for the changes in times and venues till we get it all sorted !
