Holding Baby is a new play, written by Jan Watts and directed by Tina Hofman. This rehearsed reading on 13th January at 6pm is performed by a remarkable all women cast of experienced professional actors. Their commitment to the text has stunning results. Tina Hofman brings light and excitement to a worthy script.
The play is about Kinship Care. Kinship Care? Not many people have heard this term. It’s when a child is being raised by their grandparents or a close family member, rather than their birth parents. 300, 000 children in the UK are currently being raised in kinship relationships.
The play follows the events that change Barbara’s life forever. She goes to the doctor’s surgery for a flu jab, but leaves as the sole carer of her granddaughter, Tia Marie. All the characters in the play have a connection with Kinship Care in its diversities.
Poignant and funny, an evening of theatre that will make you think…
