Ledbury Poetry Festival – Poetry Competition

Ledbury PoLedbury festivaletry Festival Poetry Competition is now Live!

We are delighted that Imtiaz Dharker has agreed to judge this year’s Poetry Competition. Unlike other poetry competitions, there is no sifting process – Imtiaz will read each and every poem.
ImitezImtiaz Dharker is a poet, artist and documentary film – maker. Awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2014, recipient of the Cholmondeley Award and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, her most recent collection is Over the Moon (Bloodaxe). With Poetry Live! she reads to over 25,000 students a year.

Adult Prizes

First Prize: £1000 cash and a course at Ty Newydd, The National Writers’ Centre for Wales. www.tynewydd.org
Second Prize: £500 Third Prize: £250

Young Person’s prizes

First Prize: £100 cash
Second Prize: £50
Third Prize: £25

Children’s Prizes

First Prize: £25 book token
Second Prize: £15 book token
Third Prize: £10 book token

All winners get to read at the Ledbury Poetry Festival 2017 – if abroad there is the possibility of Skyping at the winners’ event
