St. Paul’s Church, Hockley, Birmingham. 17th October 12015
Saturday morning, the sun is shining on the grey cream stone of the monolithic building set in a leafy autumnal collar of trees only a short walk from the city centre.
In this rather unusual setting, we were collaborating with the
‘1240 Arts’ project to give a free public performance of our work around the theme ‘Memory‘.
Inside the performers collect themselves in the splendour of the magnificent interior and we turn to our ‘figurehead’ Sue Brown.
Sixteen WWB performers absorbed performance tips and advice to piece together a diverse and eclectic compilation of their work which was warmly received by the small but select audience.
Laughs, musings and even the odd tear sprung from listeners and performers alike in this expressive, often very personal and moving presentation.
Afterwards over complimentary coffee, biscuits and friendly exchanges, the new WWB anthology ‘Moments in Time’ was shared and authors signed numerous copies of their contributions for WWB members, friends and followers.
Thank you to all who made this event possible and check out what else ‘1240 Arts’ are up to HERE and don’t forget to snap up your copy of the new anthology HER
