5th September 2015
Another bringing together of creative energies was enlivened by the late summer’s sparkling sunshine. In this spirit, much of the housekeeping was dispensed with easily but with so much in the diary here are just the highlights.
St Paul’s Presentation – 17th October – 12.40 St Paul’s Square, Hockley. There are many performers and readers from the group taking part that will make this a great event in a somewhat hidden but beautiful venue. Performers can rehearse from 10.30.
There will be more Celebrating Sanctuary collaboration events in the coming months, dates still to be finalised but the imaginative combination will produce yet more exciting performances.
Progress on the Anthology is ‘on point’. Final proofs and amendments are being dealt with and the members had the opportunity to comment on cover design and titles from which final decisions will be made. The timetable should allow copies of the collection to be available at the St. Paul’s event in October.
Sue was persuaded to describe her experience at the Vanley Burke event and some behind the scenes insight. She also passed on several tips for how one might prepare for performance and how to approach such an event in general; we can all learn.
From there on many of the group shared their work and in such a positive, enlivened atmosphere, wonderful and often moving performances and readings ensued with affirmative and constructive feedback for all.
A powerful meeting wound up with energetic smiles and fond farewells all round.
