Another great meeting featuring special guest Naomi Paul who delivered a fascinating and educational workshop on the Structure of Poetry.
Naomi is a good friend of many WWB members and her writing, performance and considered whit guarantees a great session. With members participating avidly from the very start, we studied the formal aspects as well as the less rigid formats that poetry has taken in the past and through some more contemporary writers. Studying the ideas of format and content, style and substance and not forgetting rhythm and rhyme, it would be fair to say that everyone would take away something from Naomi’s excellent guidance to make us think a great deal more about how we write. A short writing exercise bought together a number of very interesting pieces as we have come to expect from our creative members.
General updates of WWB business included the publications and launch events for members already featured here, the proposed WWB Anthology and other occasions in the coming weeks and months.

Update: ‘Many thanks to the group for inviting me back to run another workshop, which I thoroughly enjoyed doing. The contributions and responses from the group during the session were interesting and challenging, helping everyone to move forward and develop their writing. All the best to the group for your work during the rest of this year. Look forward to working with you all again. Naomi Paul’
