May Monthly Meeting 2015

May 02 2105

A difficult start to the meeting this month with challenging news of a worrying medical issue for one of our members, our love and prayers were sent to her for a speedy resolution.

NabilaAs well as the 14 regular members this month we were pleased to welcome two visitors, Simeon, who some may know from the recent collaboration with Celebrating Sanctuary and Nabila who was excited enough to become the newest member of WWB.

Housekeeping items included reports on the acquisition of our own stills and video camera WWB Cameraand also a voice recorder, these will be used for WWB meetings and events and may be available for members events if appZoom H1ropriate. On that side of the groups growing appreciation of our work, we were pleased to introduce Farideh as official group photographer after her generous offer to be such.

The face book page is now up and running and receiving many views, members who use Facebook are asked to send their ‘friends requests’; see the big button on this blogs Welcome page. Videos and Audio are also available on the new WWB YouTube Channel.

It seems that WWB may not take part directly in this years Birmingham Literary Festival in October but plans are being considered for WWB to make its own presentation around the same time if possible. Any suggestions by members for venues and subject will be gratefully received for consideration.IMG_6401

Femi Abidogun

Femi Abidogun’s latest anthology of his work

Femi read us two pieces from his Femi Abidogunrecently published anthology, copies of which will be available soon as he had been pleased to sell all of the available copies on a trip home to Nigeria.

Other exciting news will follow for Keisha in her focused and justifiably ambitious career; we wish her well and our ongoing support.

We all look forward to next months meeting on 6th June 12.00 noon and a workshop on ‘Structured Writing’ given by Naomi Paul; you know it’s going to be great!

About David Rollason

I am a writer, creative, inventive, observant, but the results are for you the reader to decide. There are things in my head constantly that I need to get out and into a readable form and this for now is my preferred medium. I am a simple being with complex workings. I am a complex being with simple logic. I am really just..... me.
