Love Beyond Words

For an event entitled ‘Love Without Words’ there were certainly a lot of them at the Bookbox in the Library of Birmingham on Valentine’s Day as we played to a packed room (standing room only).

The Library of Birmingham allowed us access to a new drop-in audience to swell the ranks of our many friends and family who came to hear our words of love.

IMG_6289Ricky Dragon, a WWB member and our compare for the event steered us steadily from start to finish. All ages were young in love. First love, unrequited love, forbidden love, and uncomplicated coffee. As well as poetry, we had song and a dramatic piece.

IMG_6302We had a surprise guest appearance from previous Birmingham Poet Laureate Roy McFarlane with a jaw dropping poem.

The room was still crackling with the energy of love and laughter when our figurehead Sue Brown arrived. (She’d been running a workshop at the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre, and despite making a mad dash to get to us just missed the last performer) She was, however, able to experience the energy in the room, and share the positive feedback of the audience.

‘I am so very proud of you all,’ she beamed like a proud mum.

About David Rollason

I am a writer, creative, inventive, observant, but the results are for you the reader to decide. There are things in my head constantly that I need to get out and into a readable form and this for now is my preferred medium. I am a simple being with complex workings. I am a complex being with simple logic. I am really just..... me.
