Fifteen of us braved the icy winds to our January meeting, which, because of a Valentine performance next month, was also our Annual General Meeting. We took some time to look back at 2014, at our challenges and our successes, and to plan for the coming year.
We congratulated members who had published books in 2014. Patricia x 2, Predencia, Alline, and Ita. In fact Ita’s book was fresh off the press. She brought in copies to sign for us and explained the use of her pen name C J Lewis.
We planned a series of workshops, performances, and outings for the coming year. We said a massive thank you to Sue, Viv and Predencia for the work they do in leading the group. We acknowledged the work of the core group and invited new applications. We gave feedback on the success of the website in exposing us to a wider audience. We discussed the possibility of another WWB anthology, and still we had time to squeeze in a few poems.
Our first poem of the year was Farideh’s The Truth Does Not Matter.
Please note. Anyone thinking of joining us next month the meeting will be at the Library of Birmingham in the space above the cafe.
Thanking you so much for keeping us updated. Hopefully more members will read and give feedback on updates. keep up the good work. Miss Kitty
