Despite it being August and the middle of the holiday season, despite the re-routing of many of the bus routes in the city centre to make way for the new tram service, and despite the rain, there were fourteen members at the meeting today.
We had quite a lengthy discussion about our Birmingham Book Festival performance on October 9th, which is our most ambitious undertaking so far. As it will be our last ever performance in the Library Theatre, we want to make it special, so we will be having a ‘party’.
As usual our shared work was very varied, reflecting the diversity of the group. Alas, we will be losing one of our members back to Kurdistan, and we wish him well.
Another member, Femi Abidogun, signed copies of his first anthology of poems, Blonde Grass, for some of our members. His official launch and signing will be at Quinton Library, Ridgeacre Road, Quinton, Birmingham B32, on Saturday 25 August 2-4 p.m.
Members please note: Our next writers meeting will be at the Coffee Lounge on the 18th August 12 noon – 2 p.m.. This is contradictory to the previous post.
